Better than expected

I am currently testing a few fragrances that are supposed to be similar to the legendary "Invictus (Eau de Toilette) | Paco Rabanne." To start, here is a very affordable representative from Poland. In the end, I am even positively surprised; cheap doesn't always have to mean bad, even if this hasn't turned out to be a "showstopper fragrance."

I actually find the top note to be the weakest part, which I perceive as synthetic and very alcoholic. The alcohol practically scratches in the lungs. The opening also reminds me of shower gel, coming across as very maritime and aquatic. There is a nice fruitiness with mandarins and a hint of citrus. In the heart note, there are jasmine flowers and a bit of bay leaf. In the base, guaiac wood and amber provide woody, balsamic, and sweet aromas, which overall do seem a bit artificial.

The longevity is acceptable. When applied in the morning, it has a decent scent until midday. But then it quickly fades. The sillage at the beginning is not bad either. A colleague mentioned that this is more his style compared to my experiments with fragrances that smell like Maggi seasoning. But he is also a fan of "CK One (Eau de Toilette) | Calvin Klein."
