Cuté La Rive 2013

The Polish company La Rive brings us many, many fragrances that are inspired by other well-known creations - let’s put it this way *ahem* cough* - Cuté is no exception, as it transfers the popular Chloé into a different price segment.
However, the price here is rather smoke and mirrors, partly because it doesn’t weigh heavily and partly because the quality of Cuté cannot be derived from this in any way. Alongside Chatte, Cuté will likely become one of my favorites, especially since a considerable stock can be built up for the price of a single bottle of the original.

It is a remarkably good copy of the original, where, as already commented on with Chatte, only the scent development has been slightly streamlined. However, I find this extremely secondary with Cuté, as Chloé is already quite one-dimensional and linear in terms of development - and both the original and the "re-interpretation" come across as rather synthetic.
Cuté starts directly in the heart of the scent statement, but it takes a few minutes at the beginning to fully develop. When freshly sprayed, it initially seems like a rather randomly mixed concoction, but: a little time and air quickly clear up the initial chaos. And what remains is rosy cleanliness, slightly soapy and powdery. Clean. Timeless. Unisex.
Whether these are now borrowed from the original EdT or EdP, I personally find quite unimportant, as in my opinion the differences are so minimal that they can only be explained by the concentration. I have never been able to understand the statements that the three variants (EdT/EdP/Intense) from Chloe are "different" in their expression, and I still cannot to this day. But be that as it may, Cuté could also be a bridge here, as there is only one of those and thus the discussion is moot. It is simply nice. And it lasts on the skin forever, which is really astonishing given the price; sprayed in the morning, it lasts through a normal day. And that usually consists of 12 hours for me. I have never needed to reapply, and carrying the rather bulky 100ml bottle wouldn’t make it a real pleasure. And: The La Rive team has obviously also copied the risk of over-application: with the original, due to the soapy-clean impression, there is also the risk of getting a touch too much… which then leaves the environment rather helplessly struck by the huge block of soap.

Conclusion: In everyday use, I can hardly detect any difference from the original; even in a side-by-side test (one on the left, one on the right), I quickly get confused about which is which.
