Dream La Rive

.. that’s how it should be. I belong to the apparently rather few fans of Diamonds; I smell, alongside the lychee at the beginning and a bit of raspberry, mainly rose, patchouli, vanilla, amber, and something clean and floral that could pass for lily of the valley. All very welcome guests, homogeneous and cozy, without becoming shrill or sticky.

With Dream, I smell the resemblance; however, this fragrance emphasizes notes that I wouldn’t like as much in Diamonds if they were more prominent on me: raspberry and sweetness that merge into a kind of bubblegum pink note. It’s cute, lolita-like, and youthful, but not really my thing. The longer the scent develops, the more the pink recedes and approaches my memory of Diamonds, becoming more pleasing to me. Freesia and lily of the valley are missing, which is a shame.
I don’t really warm up to it - if I had bought it after Diamonds, I wouldn’t have been interested. It connects, but doesn’t really speak to me; instead, it tells its story like a little cute chatterbox. Maybe I’m imagining this because I know it was cheap; I definitely miss the beautiful flowers, and it’s probably just too much synthetic raspberry at the beginning, even though I like the base. But it is quite different from the Armani. It would definitely be a fragrance for home, in case the girl in me comes out and demands a pink and white striped cake.

The bottle appeals to me, aside from the aluminum spray shine on top, for a product from the Lolita Lollipop range; it fits well in the hand. From a design perspective, I find it prettier than the decadently angular Diamonds bottle (Dream reminds me more of Art Nouveau than flashy behavior); I like this curved, triangular, berry-fruit-like shape with an ironic princess touch.
