Yes, it smells okay. But it's sitting here on the shelf next to Brave from the same house and smells almost identical. Did it have to be like this, La Rive?
I own both, and they are not identical.
First of all, the bottle is of higher quality, and the spray head works better (the Brave just spits out a drop, while the Fearless Man distributes it much better, causing less mess). The glass isn't as bulky, and the cap is probably better too. (Unfortunately, my Brave's cap is broken.) I do like flashy things and actually thought the Invictus design was pretty cool, but many have criticized the Brave's bold design, whereas the Fearless Man bottle is more subtle.
La Rive Brave is a lot sweeter and really has that true bubblegum vibe. (Very similar to Invictus EDT!)
The Fearless Man isn't quite as sweet; yes, it leans towards Invictus, but it has more of a deodorant/shower gel vibe. It reminds me more of Montblanc's Legend Spirit than Invictus EDT.
Because of that, the Fearless Man is a bit more understated and better suited for the office, for sports-just more discreet.
So it's really just differences in nuances. The DNA is the same. Is it really necessary as a new release? When they sit next to each other in the store, I feel a bit cheated. I still didn't rate the scent of Fearless as bad because I want to be fair, but the criticism is warranted.
Same scent or just a slight change and selling it as a new fragrance doesn't work; they need to improve. Others do it better-competition doesn't sleep.
