Neurotic Eroticism
This scent is wonderful - for me, it embodies sensuality and desire to the point of madness when sprayed.
Do you remember "Interview with a Vampire"?
In my imagination, Lestat de Lioncourt should wear this fragrance. At first, the scent presents a narcissistic, hedonistic, and choleric character - dark and very lustful.
But if you wait a little longer and look more closely, this fragrance takes you to the depths of its warm yet broken heart - and it becomes so gentle and protective that desire transforms from a neurotic, compulsive craving into a deep devotion.
The leather that is so prominent at the beginning, combined with an ethereal note of bergamot and geranium, evolves within about 20 minutes into a balsamic scent with saffron, a hint of cardamom, and for me, also cinnamon, underpinned by soft amber and sandalwood.
I can never clearly perceive the berries and grapefruit; perhaps they only highlight certain notes - most notably in the heart note, a dark, almost overripe blackberry.
This fragrance has come to stay - it lasts a good 7 - 8 hours and has a consistently appropriate sillage - you won't bother anyone who doesn't want to be bothered ;)
A beautiful scent for dark, sweet desire.
And back to the beginning: I also find this fragrance very adornment for women. I like it on myself - and not necessarily because I am a narcissistic, choleric vampire... ;)

I can relate; that's really an accurate description, and I can understand your associations. The vampiric connection for me comes from the combination of dark notes with fruit and floral elements. It feels juicy and sensual, but in a shady way, as this liveliness is nestled in darkness.

I really like your comment, and I think your description and interpretation capture the scent perfectly. I can't describe the notes, but I also love that darkness. I rarely say this because I usually enjoy floral opulence. But Lestat would probably say the same about you…

The movie is great, but the scent isn't really for me. Your comment confirms my suspicion about the fragrance notes. ;)

Great comment! It makes me want to watch the movie again while wearing this scent. Thanks! I'm adding it to my wishlist right away. I'll also check out **Blood Chalice**.

If it doesn't come off too leathery, I might like it.

The name is a combination of nero and erotic. I bet they considered whether the association with neurotic was too obvious back then. :-) You've vividly described its sensuality.

It's definitely a wonderful scent for "everyday wear"! Great for those who don't like it too strong.
