Does Nerotic mean what I think it does?...

Hello everyone, I think it's been a while since I last posted a comment here, hasn't it? This time, however, I won't ask if anyone missed me, as I can already guess the answer from you mean beasts :D

But alright, I'm not going to complain, so let's get straight to the fragrance. Since I hadn't published anything in a long time, I needed a special scent, and what could be better suited than Nerotic by Laboratorio Olfattivo? After all, the word EROTIC is in Nerotic, mu ha ha ha, I, the pleasure seeker, am definitely back :DD But wait, let's take it slow. Because things don't always seem to be what they are at first. Maybe Nerotic means something entirely different? It does resemble the English term neurotic, after all! But before I keep guessing, let me take a quick look. If you search for Nerotic, of course, various websites for this fragrance pop up. And the description of a fragrance is always a good source to learn more about it, right? So let's read what most sites (including the Laboratorio Olfattivo website) have to say: Hypnotic, sensual, sexual, erotic, neurotic… Nerotic.

I knew it! I KNEW IT! Sexual and erotic, yes yes, the first gut feeling is always right, mu ha ha! An erotic scent, he he. Although erotic, olfactorily speaking (or rather sniffed), is surely just a matter of perception and taste, and many might have a different opinion on whether something smells erotic or sexual. For some, roses might be sensual, for others perhaps powdery scents with a blush-like aura, while some (especially the gentlemen) might stereotypically think of sex or female genitalia when they smell, for example, fish (oh my God… :DDD), and well… you know what I mean. But I think I've talked enough again. I should get to the scent description.

**The Scent:**
The scent starts with all sorts of notes, mainly those listed in the fragrance notes here. You catch a whiff of bergamot here, a bit of saffron there, then come the roses or rose-like scents, and coriander flashes briefly (and seems to disappear in the further development of the scent). But shortly after this little scent explosion, the first notes come through, which then smell more intense and overshadow most of the other notes. You can best smell the leather and right behind it, smoky notes. At this point, all other notes are almost equally intense, but they all smell quite good together.
A little later, the leather remains, as do the smoky notes. But the roses seem to become stronger, and the scent takes on a generally spicier and slightly woody aura.
Then the amber kicks in (or becomes more intense) and radiates a very nice sweetness; additionally, the scent now becomes softer and smoother, which could be due to the previously mentioned spicy notes losing intensity. In any case, the mix of amber, light creamy notes, and leather is quite successful. And the base mainly smells of these notes, with the leather being the most intense of all these notes, although it doesn't come across as strong and leathery as in other leather fragrances, but rather radiates a softer vibe. Much later, only a sweet, slightly powdery scent remains, which lasts for hours and smells nice. Overall, a rather beautiful fragrance.

**The Sillage and Longevity:**
The sillage is quite good; you will definitely be able to smell the fragrance well on someone. But even though it projects strongly, I don't find it really overwhelming; if I encounter it in a stronger dose, I believe… in any case, it remains pleasant for a long time.
The longevity is incredibly long… it will not only be detectable all day but also the next whole day. Yes, I still had a slight sweet touch on my arm the next day until the evening. Accordingly, the cling on clothing is also extreme; it could last days and weeks (provided you don't wash your clothes for that long :DD).

**The Bottle:**
The bottle is cylindrical, tapering and becoming narrower towards the neck. It is dark with a black cap and a black label. It looks elegant, even though it is technically rather simple. A nice bottle.

**Conclusion:**
So I find this fragrance quite successful. And yes, it can definitely be described as sensual, as it has that smooth, sweet aura, and some other notes surely contribute to the idea of something sensual, like leathery scents and the light smoky notes perhaps. Of course, as I mentioned in the introduction, it also depends on personal perception what one might consider sensual and erotic, but I think most could perceive the fragrance with such notes as sensual. Why else are my fingers itching to write here again about how “delicious and sexy” you ladies must look with such a scent? :D

In any case, Nerotic is a very testable fragrance (but please never buy it blind…), for which you should take your time testing, as it continues to develop. Sure, the main direction is sweet-creamy, leathery, and slightly smoky, but it still offers many other notes at the beginning, so you shouldn't form a judgment in the first five minutes. But I think I don't need to tell you fragrance freaks that; you know best how to test fragrances optimally :)

For use, I find that autumn and winter suit this fragrance best. And it fits many occasions. Whether for the evening or going out, or even in leisure time, meeting friends, going out to eat or brunching, it suits many occasions on these cool days.

And that's all from me about this fragrance. As I said, I hope to post here a bit more frequently again, but we'll see about that :))
Have a nice evening and take care! Until then :)

This sounds quite intriguing... I wonder if Nero inspired the scent? After all, smoky notes and neurotic behavior weren't foreign to him ;-)

Who’s being neurotic here? I would have thought of neroli, but the pyramid doesn’t suggest it. And neither does your description.

I usually steer clear of hypnotic scents. But this one seems to be wearable after all.

Ah, I've missed you and I think the scent notes match the name of the perfume and your description well-except for the fish part! :-) Best regards!
