My first association when I smelled the fragrance was PdM Percival. And I don't mean that I thought Lacoste Magnetic was just another shower gel scent like so many others, but that it really smells like PdM Percival.
However, this judgment came about because I hadn't worn Percival for a while. After wearing both fragrances alternately, I see it a bit differently.
You can immediately smell why one connects both fragrances - and yet they do not smell the same. Lacoste Magnetic is not a clone; it doesn't even try to be. It is an independent fragrance, to which I would much rather assign the term "flanker." For me, it is the definition of a flanker: You immediately associate both fragrances with each other, they both go in the same direction (shower gel), and yet they are different enough not to be a clone.
So, anyone who wants the spirit of PdM Percival for a more affordable price can certainly give Lacoste Magnetic a try.
