O de L’orangerie - not as sour as the "old one"

I came across this fragrance yesterday while searching for another scent from which I wanted to fill a sample. There isn’t much more to say about this fragrance; some say it’s boring, others say it’s beautifully refreshing, both are true.

When summer in the Rhineland is hot and sunny, when heels get stuck in the tar on the street, when the air shimmers before your eyes, and the thunderstorm and rain drive the humidity even higher, then it’s time for Ô de l'Orangerie.

With this fragrance, I primarily perceive fresh, juicy orange, not sweet, not too sour. The jasmine hides from me, the scent remains beautifully orangey-citrusy, is a bit bitter and greenish-herbaceous, and after a while becomes softer and slightly woody. An ideal, rather linear fragrance for hot days, which, alongside its freshness, also conveys a wonderful impression of cleanliness. The big sister, Ô de Lancôme, was also in my collection years ago, but today I prefer the little sister, as she is not quite as citrusy-sour as the older sister. Longevity and sillage are quite weak, but when used with the body lotion, both are acceptable. Additionally, the price is quite reasonable, so you can confidently reapply. The ribbed glass bottle is aesthetically pleasing and, despite its size, fits well in the hand. Although O de L’orangerie is classified for women, I consider it quite suitable for the stronger sex.

Testing it out - mainly because the older sister brings back very special memories for me (see "Omnia")...

I think it's great too, especially in summer when you don't want to wear too much clothing or too much fragrance, just something refreshing-it's perfect!

I used to quite like the unreformulated sour old one. But when my colleague wore the orange sister, I stepped back quite a bit. Good thing the longevity is weak. That way, I don't have to keep my distance all the time ;-O

Then you're all set for the hot days ;-) I think it would definitely be too light for me, but you described it wonderfully! Pre-summer trophy for you!

I like it, but the longevity is really, really bad for me! Unfortunately!!

The big sister is my mom's summer scent. I don't know this one.

Informative comment. I usually don't use scents like this. I even found the big sister a bit "musty." There was some note that didn't sit well with my nose. The fragrance sounds pleasant, as you describe it. I'm sure it will have its fans.

Orange blossoms are a bit tricky on my skin... But the scent is definitely worth a try. And your comment deserves a trophy!

Oh yes, my favorite for midsummer, it's so crisp and yet so aromatic without being too flat. It lasts pretty well, and the sillage isn't terrible on me either :-)
