Parfait de Roses smells great but for me has a misleading name. Where are the roses? This smells most like a sugary raspberry syrup note on a bed of incensey woody notes in the general olfactory neighborhood of guaiac.
Rose accords are very often composed using a combination of materials that contain berry like notes and that's probably what Natalie Lorson was going for here: a berry heavy rose accord. However to me that rose accord never materializes, it just reads as raspberry syrup throughout the wear time. Additionally this doesn't smell of vanilla or much else in the note pyramid except frankincense, the slightest hint of sharp pink pepper and a note adjacent to the raspberry that has a bit of a boozy edge.
Wearing this I understand the acclaim and enthusiasm that this fragrance has enjoyed in the fragrance community. It is certainly upbeat and highly wearable. The overall character of the fragrance reads as PINK and is absolutely linear as it smells the same from top to bottom. Stylistically the composition reminds me a lot of MFK Oud Satin Mood though they are not dupes.
