The air is still, as if barely breathing,
And yet rustling, near and far,
The most beautiful fruits fall from every tree.
O do not disturb them, the celebration of nature!
This is the harvest that it holds itself,
For today, only what falls from the branches
Is what the mild rays of the sun touch.
Christian Friedrich Hebbel
Autumn! Autumn in a bottle - what could be better! Golden leaves, sunlight with that special hue, scent of last blooms and ripe fruit...
The first spray of this fragrance brings to mind roasted chestnuts. Delightfully warm and nutty, deliciously sweet and floury - I immediately crave Purrée des Marrons!
The tuberose is sweet as hoped, but not piercing or headache-inducing.
Mild, sunny, like a midday in sunshine. Although a floral nuance, I have an idea of ripe fruit like mirabelles.
The entire fragrance radiates gold-yellow, warming and caressing.
The longevity is magnificent; after 4 hours I still feel well-perfumed on my skin.
Even at about 30 cm away, delicious clouds rise from my arm and reach my nose.
While the top note is already warming and radiant, the heart develops into something even more delightful.
Roasted aromas, nuttiness, and creaminess create a comforting envelop of extraordinary roundness.
Somewhere within is a tiny touch of "aquatic" hidden, just enough to cool the sweetness a bit.
As the heart note fades, tonka appears, and nuttiness or roasted chestnuts come forth stronger.
I perceive the entire progression as relatively evenly swinging between the creamy sweetness of tuberose and the more bitter nuttiness of chestnuts. Now and then, this unknown fruit shines through, refreshing the fragrance, which never slips into being sticky.
For autumn, I am now well-equipped - I expressly give a sniff recommendation!
How lovely! A favorite poem that beautifully captures the current September mood. However, your scent impressions scare me off with the word roasted aromas... I'd rather steer clear of that (better: keep my nose away)!
Late summer sun trophy for you :)
