Does this treasure deserve a place with me?

Where should I start.... Well, as some know, I am a big fan of La nuit Tresor, especially since this fragrance direction has always attracted me and spoken to me until now.
Every flanker that has come to the market so far has been a unicorn for me, yes, love at first sniff!
The original La nuit Tresor has been my signature scent for 4 years now, the fragrance that makes me the happiest but also amazes me every time I spray it or even just sniff the bottle!:)) Let's just say it's MY BABY;)
When I found out that a new flanker from my favorite fragrance line was soon to hit the perfume market, I was, in any case, excited:D
My grandfather was also eagerly anticipating the new La nuit Tresor fragrance with me:))
The scent notes sounded wonderful, almost too good!
My grandfather and I ordered a sample of it, which unfortunately did not arrive, so we decided to drive to the perfumery instead, and we were lucky!
As soon as we entered the perfumery, the delivery of the new La nuit arrived.
I hopped and giggled like a child to the tester, and my grandfather just shook his head and said, "Just spray it already, then we'll know more:D"
It felt so special to hold and admire the new bottle in my hand*.*
I silently prayed that this one would blow me away but also immediately tempt me to buy it....
Now from here, I can say let's start with the scent description;)
Let's get to the nice part;)
The scent description!:D
The scent...
Starts with a very syrupy cherry note that dominates the entire scent progression on my skin.
At first, I thought, well, let's see how it goes...
However, my grandfather was already very disappointed with the scent progression from the start, but I didn't give up hope and prayed it would get better...
Before I tested the scent, I thought it might go in the direction of La petite robe noir since the scent pyramid of La nuit is almost identical to La petite robe noir, but I didn't know how wrong I was...
If some of you think it goes in the direction of TF Lost Cherry or Rouge Smoking by BDK, you are completely mistaken!
Also, the word Intense is unfortunately more of a deception than reality...
I was hoping for a much more intense and darker version of the original La nuit, but my disappointment was greater than my joy...
Don't get me wrong, the scent itself is really beautiful BUT it is not what I had imagined....
My grandfather also had higher hopes since he loves La nuit just like I do, but he found every flanker from the La nuit line beautiful until now; only the Intense he found not as interesting in terms of scent progression as the previous La nuit flankers.
After the cherry, a bitter almond note followed, which didn't seem very rounded to me.
The almond became more intense and subtly aromatic over time.
I was hoping for a creamy almond, but this almond note somehow has too much rose; I unfortunately can't smell it at all because I believe it could have saved the scent progression, but on my skin, it wasn't present for a second.
I also smelled a note that kept bothering me, especially when I brought my nose closer to my wrist.
Only I unfortunately don't know what that note is:((
The vanilla note that I know from the La nuit Tresor line/flanker I could smell on my skin the next day because it is so beautifully creamy and dark, but at least the vanilla could bring a comforting smile to my face the next day.
For longevity and sillage, I can only say positive things, as with ALL La nuit Tresor fragrances EXTREMELY GOOD!
On the skin, it is detectable until the next day, and on clothing (sillage) it is still perceptible for three days and longer.
My conclusion: a beautiful scent, but you have to like syrupy cherry notes/fragrances!
I am considering getting it, but since I haven't warmed up to the scent itself yet, I'm hesitating. What do you think??
Should I buy it even though it didn't blow me away, or should I let it go?

My driving instructor once gave me great advice when I couldn't decide whether to execute a "maneuver" or if the other cars were too close: "When in doubt, don't."
This applies wonderfully to life as well and has saved me from many bad decisions since then. If you don't like a fragrance or if just one note bothers you, it's better to save your money for one that truly convinces you :-D

I'm not really a fan of fruity scents, and notes like cherry usually put me off, but I find them very well done here. It was really nice to read that your grandfather was also excited, even though you both were disappointed by the fragrance. I think Lancôme has created another interesting composition here, and somehow I like all the Trésor scents I've smelled so far (still missing the classic, the Dentelle Rose, and the Musk).

Your grandfather is so sweet! It's wonderful how he "cheers you on." I wouldn't buy the scent. It doesn't make sense, and it would just be a second choice, if anything. But whether you buy it or not, well written!

Oh what a shame... I wouldn't buy it based on the description, especially since you mentioned that something about the scent bothers you... Thanks for the great and informative text, I was really invested! :)))))

I love SIRUPARTIGE KIRSCHE!!! And I tested it today :) on my skin it’s dry, fruity, powdery, and has a dry rose with amaretto at the start that then transforms into a gentle, fine almond.... Ultra... I need to get this.... ;)

I wouldn't buy a fragrance anymore that doesn't truly excite me. I've regretted that a few times in the past. You've already found your favorite, and the new flanker apparently can't compete, according to your judgment. I also loved La Nuit Tresor EDP. Before the LNT Intense ends up gathering dust on the shelf, I'd rather spend that money on a scent that really impresses me after a few wears. I'm really looking forward to testing the fragrance myself soon.

Great description! I really love this whole line and have been looking for a truly sweet cherry scent for a long time. Plus, I really enjoy the bitter almond in TF Lost Cherry… So it’s definitely worth a try :) Maybe give it a few more chances - if you’re still not a fan, I’d just wait for the next La Nuit, as there will (hopefully) be other flankers that you’ll like better ☺️
