Immortelle Whisper at Myrrh Beach
What unfolds in terms of aromas here is unique and I have never encountered it in any other perfume. A flea market find - offered cheaply from private hands - a brand unknown to me until now. Likely only available in the country of production and in special stores in France. Very spicy on one hand, tarragon and pepper also create a kind of "marine note," which enters into an idiosyncratic liaison with woods and bitter immortelle. And then the mysterious myrrh, which smolders around spicy roses.
I also think of beach grass, a wiry grass that has an aromatic-rooty-bitter scent. Perhaps vetiver, which has been cleverly woven in here. This extraordinary perfume certainly does not lack finesse. At times it is like a phantom that constantly transforms, expands, contracts, only to find its original form again, then transforms anew - always a little different, but always wonderful and unmistakable. The delicate "aquatic" is always present, as is the immortelle - slightly "myrrhic" and almost enchanted.
