Love Elixir Langé 2015

Since the British knickknack shop opened in the city, I find myself drawn back to this "Villa Kunterbunt" time and again.
There must be a little monkey and a horse somewhere there too.

Above all, there are cosmetics labels from Canada and the USA that I had never heard of before, but which appeal to me.

I pick lipsticks in the most daring colors from the bargain tables, suppressing claustrophobic feelings, as the customer traffic is enormous.

The perfumery department is just as colorful, where unfamiliar scents smile at me.
There are no testers.

I am drawn to a little purple box with the image of a woman's profile, which I categorize into the 60s.

My husband can't help but remark: Purple - the last attempt?
Trying makes wise - I reply calmly and take my trophy to the checkout.
Love Elixir - music to my romantic ears.

In the car, I release the spirit from the bottle, and it envelops me partly romantically, partly classically old school.
The peony, combined with the rose, has a charmingly nostalgic effect, and this connection exudes poetry.
Frankincense whispers mysteries, and sweetly powdery patchouli and soft woods join in.

This must have been how it was in the swinging sixties - as the portrait on the little box suggested.

The local radio plays: Those were the days my friend - by Mary Hopkins, which I find very fitting.

At home, I discover with surprise that this alluring love elixir was created only a few years ago.

For me, it is a perfect retro scent - skillfully out of time, right into my hands.
