Change of Senses
Last Christmas - my boyfriend gave me Khamrah by Lattafa, and I can hardly wait to try it. My first fragrance from Lattafa and I’m immediately so confused. What is this? My first thought: "Oh God no... that's not me!" I don’t recognize myself. Unfortunately, I have to give it back to my boyfriend because it suits him. Sometimes it’s like with a striking color. Even though you admire it on others, you know it doesn’t suit you. I think it’s because I was somehow taught that, being blonde, I should only wear floral, fresh scents, which threw me off.
The opening notes are characterized for me by cinnamon and a hint of liquor. Then everything becomes a bit thicker, the dates enrich the fragrance and it becomes rich and dark. A scent like from a café that sells particularly spiced pastries during the Christmas season. You wait excitedly at the counter and take in everything around you. It smells of cinnamon, chocolate, and cake here. Today, it’s going to be a cinnamon roll with apples. If you want, you can get a cocoa with a shot and cinnamon here. After all the excitement in the café, you sit down, a candle burns beside you, and you get used to all the sounds and smells. It becomes cozy, and the candle smells of vanilla and slightly of wood. It feels homey.
I really have to thank Lattafa because little by little, I have dared to approach such Beast Mode perfumes. It was almost like an awakening to the oriental, powerful fragrances. This treasure is indispensable in my collection. My boyfriend and I have to share it because he doesn’t want to give it up anymore either. I have received sooo many compliments and feel simply comfortable and magical when I wear it.
