Black Stallion
Actually, I didn't want to test any more smoky perfumes as I thought my fragrance journey in this area (with Bois d'Ascese) was complete. However, the blind purchase of the Maahir Black Edition proved me wrong.
I came across this perfume due to a recommendation from a YouTuber, who mentioned that the beautiful bottle could also serve as decoration if the scent didn't appeal to you. And since I liked the little work of art, I decided to buy it for about 25 euros.
The bottle is heavy and seemingly made entirely of glass or metal (including the cap). It is beautifully crafted and feels pleasant in the hand; there are no rough spots or similar horrors.
The bottle really matches the contents well: the first spray is very powerful, and one inevitably wonders if they've sprayed too much.
The initially slightly alcoholic note fits well with the overall picture of the perfume, and one thinks it was intended that way. A distinctly caramel-like and woody scent accompanies the start; I recognize this scent from two other oud fragrances. A clearly smoky (smells a bit burnt) and slightly fruity note rounds off the composition. After a while, a spicy-sharp element comes through. Then the slightly smoky caramel scent dominates again, and the black Maahir stallion becomes tamer.
Those who enjoy smoky scents can take a chance on a blind purchase here.
