Let's revisit a popular scent of the past!

When I first visited Parfumo.de 9 or 10 years ago, Raghba was THE hype fragrance. But back then samples of affordable fragrances were harder to find and I didn't know any store that carried Arabian perfumes. So I only got a decant years later. How times have changed! Nowadays I could sample Raghba in a shop that is literally 250 m away from my home.

But more importantly: Does the scent keep up after all these years? Yes, in my opinion it does. Maybe it wouldn't get all that hype today, but it's really nice, especially for the price.
This is mainly a woodsy scent, and even though that isn't my absolute favorite genre, I like it a lot. It smells like the notes suggest: A balance of warm sandalwood and a clean oud, made smokey with frankincense and sweetened up with vanilla and a slight touch of burnt sugar. It's all blended very smoothly, so while it is a potent fragrance that easily lasts over night, it never comes across as harsh. Balsamic and dry aspects of the notes are in a perfect balance.

In the end I'm glad I didn't blind-buy Raghba back in the day, but only because I know I prefer sweeter and more feminine fragrances. Maybe it would be for me if the vanilla was amped up a bit.
But I'd still wholeheartedly recommend this as a cozy, wintery unisex option at a very affordable price point.
