Oud... that was my first thought. An old wooden barrel in the cellar. Wood, wood, wood, nothing but wood.
After 2 minutes, a hint of cinnamon breaks through. Vanilla can also be sensed. I feel like Pinocchio with a wooden leg in a musty cellar room, left alone, forgotten. It’s dark. In the corner, I sense something furry. It breathes. The belly rises slightly and gently sinks back down. A monstrous beast seems to be lurking there in half-sleep. Just stay quiet, so it doesn’t wake up. And besides, if the black beast should rear up in front of me, I have my wooden leg to strike back. I perceive this scent as dark, woody, and animalistic.
The fragrance strongly reminds me of Mancera Vanille Oud, what a pity. Where is the vanilla that is supposed to smell similar? Where is the almond? Is the scent supposed to be sweet?
Well, it’s too masculine for me, too woody, and moreover, it’s not soft, not fluffy, and... sorry... not vanilla at all. It soon smells like warm woody men’s shower gel. It could be nice for a man, but not for me.
Can I ask: does it have the typical Lattafa Oudh note? Or are you not that familiar with their faux Oudh? (Foudh?). I mean the Oudh they've used in the Oud Mood line, as well as in Sheikh El Shuyuk Luxe Ed., Bade'e Al Oud Amethyst and Opulent Red. Two of my favourite, very trustworthy reviewers recommended Sehr, but one doesn't perceive Oudh (she rarely does, even when it's like the atomic bomb on my skin), and the other said that it wasn't a typical Oudh (but as she's from the UAE she means the type of Oudh that smells like an unmucked barn).
