Without a Doubt English, No British!

Laura Ashley, the lady with the floral patterned wallpapers and fabrics, with paisley scarves and skirts, the lady who can turn the house decoratively upside down. In the 80s, she released quite a bit of fashion, just as unusual as the furnishing patterns. I owned a dark red pair of trousers that went just above the knees and were tied underneath. At that time, it looked simply stunning and decidedly bold to wear a kind of knickerbocker. I paired it with a blouse and blazer, and it was just chic. Today, it's unthinkable, and I can't help but smile at the thought that such a thing was once in fashion.

But Laura Ashley also launched some fragrances, and of course, I wore her No. 1 with the trousers. I could still like the scent today if it were still available in the original! Instead, I got an "Oriental Rose" from Laura Ashley and was very curious about what she understands by oriental.

It stood unnoticed in the cupboard for a long, very long time, and today I thought it was time to test it.

Unmistakably a lush, even opulent rose by British standards. Warm, soft, almost creamy, with a lot of spice (nothing sharp) that gives the rose additional strength. I feel like I'm in an English rose garden (I love English gardens).

No, this rose is not oriental in the sense of the Orient; it is clearly an English lady with a lot of courage to present herself. The sillage is quite impressive and provides good projection, so that not only I benefit from the rose. The longevity is also good, allowing the scent to unfold beautifully over hours. It fits perfectly with today’s day; the sky is gray, yet the sun is shining, and the temperatures are in the double digits. I wouldn't wear it in the height of summer; it's just a bit too loud for that.

Those who love rose scents that truly smell like rose are exactly right with Laura Ashley's 'Oriental Rose.'

Sounds interesting. Every now and then, I do like roses, especially when they're a bit stronger.

Very nice comment. I really liked the playful things from Laura Ashley and even had two dresses from her. Unfortunately, I never tested the fragrances. That will change now with Oriental Rose.

I really liked Ashley's stuff; as a teenager, I would have loved to have a dress from her.

I really enjoyed reading your "Laura Ashley package" description, even though I’m not a fan of floral patterns or a big lover of rose scents (on myself). But this one sounds really nice. Thank you for the lovely description!

It's almost nice here today, does that still fit? But I'd better not say anything about the bottle, or you'll have me over your knee next time we come by for coffee. :D
