Roma ....a scent from my youth....a favorite scent of my mother!
"Child, this scent is always good."
With these words, my mother gifted me one of her all-time favorites for Christmas, and I was initially not very enthusiastic. I found the scent unpleasant and old-fashioned and first buried it in the drawer...
In spring, I dug it out again to give it another chance.
My teenage daughter immediately commented: "You smell like grandma!",
which meant: the scent doesn't suit you!
Still, I gave the scent more time!
What I like: it starts super fresh, citrusy with bergamot and mint.
As it develops, it became too cloying for me...
Super floral with lily of the valley and jasmine, not exactly my favorite notes.
In the drydown, it becomes a bit softer, more vanilla-like, not too sweet.
My conclusion: worn alone, I still don't like it that much, but layered with Betty Barclay "Tender Bloom," it remains significantly fresher and lighter. Wonderful for spring and summer!
I find the spicy-oriental note to be subtle compared to other reviewers.
Layered, it’s so much better!
