Very helpful Review
Danziger Goldwasser...
...is a clear spice liqueur in which flakes of gold leaf float. However, they hold as little significance for the taste of the liqueur as the gold flakes floating in Venezia Extrait do for its scent - in both cases, it seems to be all about the appearance.
In recent years, I had the EDT of Venezia (the original version, of course, from 1992), but in my mid-20s, I simply wasn't mature enough for this type of perfume, nor for "Roma" from the same brand, so both lingered in the shadows for me. Additionally, there was something about a note (civet?) in Venezia that bothered me a little.
Today, I see it differently and am glad for this treasure from the 90s. The Extrait essentially enhances all the qualities that many appreciate in the Venezia EDT: it is even more intense, warmer, sweeter, and more vanilla-like than the EDT. With the Extrait, I also feel I can detect the dried plum even more strongly, and the cinnamon makes its presence known right from the start.
It is, of course, more of a perfume for special evening occasions. Precious and unique!

Danziger Goldwasser has always fascinated me. I used to love this scent, even though I never tested it in extrait form. Boo.

Great comment! I'm especially envious of you for having this gem in your collection. The Venezia EdT immediately became one of my absolute favorites when it launched in late summer 1992, and at that time, it only had competition from the even more opulent Casmir Chopard EdP. However, I was a student back then, and the perfume version of Venezia was unaffordable. I later couldn't find that version of Venezia anymore-so unfortunately, I missed out on this perfume jewel. Such a shame!
