Drinking matcha under a fig tree
Y’all wanna know how I stumbled upon this scent? So I was visiting my friend in Cali last fall, and one night, we got back home late after partying all night. She goes to clean her makeup off her face and accidentally knocks over her little 10 ml. It shatters everywhere, leaving this magnificent scent in her apartment for the next 2-3 days my friend and I are there. I couldn’t get enough of it and knew I had to get myself a travel size when I returned back here to NY.
When I got back, I hastily looked online and found 2 10 mls of this on Mercari, and thought it would be great to send her one after hers fell and broke. She absolutely loved it and I thanked her for blessing me with this new love.
Okay now as for the scent, it’s a very clean and dry woody scent with a notable green matcha note. The fig is there, but I get more woods. It’s not sweet too sweet or sharp, and is very well balanced. The scent has a simple complexity to it somehow and is perfect to wear literally whenever. More suited for daytime and casual wear, like a signature scent. It’s perfectly unisex and lasts SO LONG on clothes. Works in all seasons too. It’s safe to say that this is my favorite Le Labo scent ever (with Lys 41 as a close second!)
