Travel or Fragrance?
El Pasajero already sounds wonderful, evoking grand journeys and great experiences at an elevated level, more like a luxurious cruise ship than a charter flight or Flixbus.
And so the Extrait de Parfum presents itself: quite cosmopolitan, worldly, sophisticated with a fine mix of velvety floral, appealing aquatic, and warm spicy-resinous notes.
It might be hard to imagine, so I’ll try to describe it this way: once the first few seconds after spraying have passed and the rather synthetic opening fades away, a wonderful comforting mélange of different nuances emerges.
On one hand, Osmanthus along with a bit of Jasmine and Magnolia takes a predominant floral position that leans slightly towards the exotic. Creamy nuances join in, reminiscent of sunscreen, along with the other ingredients. The aquatic notes and seaweed are subtly integrated, providing that hint of sea breeze vibe that lets the mind wander far away.
Even though the Extrait de Parfum is linear, in the perceived later stages, a little bit of Vanilla with Amber and Musk comes into play. Overall, El Pasajero exudes more warmth than freshness and does not come across as sweet as one might expect from such a floral scent. Accordingly, it is also quite suitable for men. I think the minimal synthetic quality can be overlooked, although the longevity and projection are far from exorbitant, even for an Extrait de Parfum.
Therefore: an interesting and valuable fragrance with a tendency towards wanderlust romance, which should not be reserved for women only - however, I must raise an eyebrow at the price being asked.
