Double Blind Purchase
I acquired this fragrance as a double blind purchase:
Without a prior test, and without any fragrance notes, so it was a full risk! :)
I simply thought that with this name and the low price, I couldn't go wrong: Sucré means sugared (as far as I know), so we have a "sugared gourmand" as a scent. That sounded perfect for me as a sweet treat lover, so I clicked the fateful order button, and voilà...
the package delivery guy, who already addresses me informally (what do I order so much for...), brought me the desired fragrance.
For the first spray, I made sure to apply it at the tried and tested spot, namely on my ankle - because in case I really don't like a scent on the first try, the sprayed area is nicely far from my nose! ;)
This approach paid off again this time, I must regrettably report.
Yes, the scent is indeed sweet, that much is true, and not just a little!
But the sweetness is (and these are of course just my personal impressions, unconfirmed without a fragrance pyramid) mainly caused by a very prominent jasmine flower, which is bright, clear, and sugary as the main melody, not only subtly present the entire time but also pushes itself quite quickly to the forefront.
It sings the whole time with a beautiful, but ultimately exhausting soprano voice: "Lilili, am I great, am I sugary, lilili..." and it really gets on my nerves, because, unfortunately: I don't like jasmine. :(
Accompanying Lilili-Jasmine is a somewhat bitter, green companion, I suspect it's vetiver.
Mr. Tenor Vetiver tries to sing against soprano Lilili with a bit of softness and bitterness, which leads to further aversion on my part, as unfortunately, I also don't like vetiver. :(
(Or is there such a bitter, green iris? Because the note is a bit powdery.)
Both the green tenor voice and the pink-white soprano voice hold their parts for a very long time, accompanying me for many hours with unwavering intensity. How lucky I am... ;)
Despite my aversion to the two components that I can sniff out, I must say that the composition of the fragrance is absolutely successful!
It smells very luxurious, fine, and noble, and if I liked the two, it would definitely have gotten at least a 9. So, I give the sugared gourmand a benevolent 6 points.
By the way, the bottle is also very elegant to look at. Heavy cut glass in an upright rectangular shape, adorned with a removable cameo, which, although naturally made of plastic, still looks very beautifully nostalgic.
