Especially now that it is becoming unpleasantly cold and damp, which is typical for late autumn and winter, one often longs for a homely warmth. This warmth does not necessarily have to come from a fireplace, stove, or heater; there are also fragrances that evoke the atmosphere of warm rooms, spiced cookies, and cakes, and the contemplative Advent season.
This pleasant spicy-woody scent is just right for that. For those who do not like it too rich and sweet, but sweet and rich enough to be considered a fine "gourmand."
The bright and citrusy opening is soon complemented by warm spices like clove, coriander, cinnamon, saffron, a bit of ginger, and cardamom. Oud is subtly perceivable in the background, as a herbal souvenir from the Orient. There is also warm, ambered dark vanilla with a fairly long lasting presence. The spices do not fade away until the end. A discreet retreat follows a prominent presence, allowing the game to begin anew time and again. Like flickering candlelight that creates a cozy and homely atmosphere. This is exactly the time for it.
I can also quite well imagine wearing "Amber Oud" on cool spring and summer evenings; I will be curious to try that out :-))
