Black Oud Les Senteurs Gourmandes 2013

Here are simply my thoughts and impressions on the scent, sober and subjective:

Lemon in the top note or rather a citrus-fresh opening

Sandalwood consistently very dominant

thus it has something "Declaration d'un soir-like," without its sharpness

therefore much rounder and almost a bit sweet

Patchouli only supportive or so beautifully intertwined that it doesn't come off musty

the sweet - chocolatey aspect of the patchouli might give the aforementioned sweet touch

Frankincense only ethereally passes by in my opinion

I can definitely smell oud, but it has been extremely tamed

woody with warm components that become more dominant towards the end

the name fits, because nothing is bright here, except for the opening

if I had to describe it in a few words: woody spicy light

compared to other oud fragrances, an extreme beginner oud scent

of the four Les Senteurs Gourmandes Ouds, my personal favorite

(there you can see, I would have guessed Amber Oud beforehand)

Scent intensity weak, very close to the skin

Longevity weak, after 2 hours the sweet sandalwood journey is over

a nice spring fragrance that needs to be reapplied often

no problem at this price
