Black Oud Les Senteurs Gourmandes 2013

Of course, you feel very happy when you discover a beautiful oud fragrance for 12 euros at Galerie Lafayette. My friend impulsively bought it for me. And then immediately got one for himself. The very first perfume of his life... it must have really impressed him.

It impressed me too...
The ingredients (it's probably not worth discussing the fragrance pyramid here) are a bit misleading. I also smell oud here subtly but distinctly. Either there really is some in it, or the other ingredients create this note in combination.

The opening is very bitter! I've tried several men's fragrances that are much more unisex. I perceive the incense more strongly than the oud note. Patchouli is also present but somewhat in the background. It seems to enhance this really beautifully bitter impression. Sandalwood makes it a bit softer after an hour.

I don't find the scent as mysterious as my predecessors do; it lacks complexity for that. For me, it is dark and bitter. On a lady, it would certainly be unusual and very exciting.

Since some have already complained about the longevity: On the skin, it lasts at most 2 hours, or it becomes quite close to the skin after just 10 minutes. That's why I sprayed it on my clothes today. It holds wonderfully there, at least half a day without reapplying. However, it probably can't provide a significant sillage, although I only treated myself to 2 sprays today so I wouldn't scare my clients.

At this price, I also find it okay if you have to reapply every now and then. And on clothing, as mentioned, it holds flawlessly. (My rating also takes this into account). You get a daylight-appropriate dark fragrance here. A great thing because you don't bother anyone, but the scent itself is still extraordinary.

It is therefore wearable all year round. And recommended for men and women who like subtle but not everyday perfumes.
