I Am Grown Up! Or: The Prom of the Dance School
Dancing queen in pastel violet was released in 2015 alongside its siblings I believe I can fly in pastel green and The Time of my Life in pink.
All three come in a tin can in the matching color. The flacons are made of transparent glass.
Drawn in by the charmingly nostalgic-playful flacon, I had to test them all even though the appearance already suggested that I probably wasn't the target audience for the fragrances. However, since I don't really care about that - let's get to the testers.
The opening with very ripe, sweet pear is great! It's already _very_ sweet, but that was to be expected and isn't necessarily a bad thing.
However, that might be exactly what overwhelms the iris; at least I unfortunately don't notice it at all.
So far, so good. So good, so beautiful. Better than I thought, and I am pleased.
But then! The base!...
What the label on the tin describes as vanilla, praline, and patchouli turns out to be, in my opinion, an incredibly nasty mix of cloyingly sweet and ancient musty!
Fortunately, the sillage is very low, because otherwise I feared it might take my breath away.
I think this is what you smell when you're still quite young but already know everything. Parents are awful. And patchouli _so_ mystical and grown-up.
The prom queen of the dance school, for whose age the fragrance is presumably intended, will unfortunately not be Dancing queen for me, and I am infinitely glad that I was not tempted to make a blind purchase based on the top note, which I had indeed considered.
What a pity. The flacon is so cute, and I would have really enjoyed being able to look at it at home.
