There are days when I could just pour a bottle of Le Petit Robe Noire over myself. Or Lolle Midnight 2005-2009. Or, if I'm really feeling bold, even Loverdose. (I've even been caught with a bottle of Cat Deluxe by Naomi Campbell...)
I simply love these gourmand giants. And the more licorice there is, the better. However, I also know that I'm a bit perverse, but that doesn't bother me. You don't have to endure my scent preferences.
So I was really excited about Lolle Midnight 2011. Although Ms. Hermi, who didn't like it, didn't pass it on to me, it is still mine now. And it will run out, I'm telling you that right now. It can only be a matter of weeks.
The top note was surprisingly not very licorice-heavy; others offer more. The little licorice flower provides soft anise notes and mild sweetness.
But then. But then. Liquorice nosegasm! Loverdose times 10!
Lolle did not disappoint me. The heart note is licorice-delicious, but also floral-fruity, making it absolutely, incredibly amazing!
The base even has a slightly smoky-spicy quality and not too much vanilla. It only gets sweet briefly after the top note when the heart expands.
Those who dislike the aforementioned fragrances should stay away.
But even users of Prada Candy or Flowerbomb, who don't completely hate licorice, should give it a try.
I'm going to grab a little cat paw from the bag now.
