What Does the World Cost Me, Part II

After having to dissect Valero due to emotional outbursts, I find it just as difficult to remain calm and composed with this part.

What LV delivers here for 510 euros in fragrance art is nearly as cheeky as the trivial little water from PdM.
I took a look at the original description on their website and will comment on this outrageous blending below.

LV: "Vanilla unfolds in a new, light glow"
Me: "The vanilla is far from a 'new, light glow'; the term 'Clumsy Instant Vanilla,' which has already been aptly named here, fits much better.

LV: "...springs from Fantasmagory, the symbiosis of movement and light"
Me: Presumably, this clever and creative slogan is responsible for 1/4 of the absurd price, even though it comes across as completely contextless and useless.

LV: "...inspired vanilla a new masterpiece..."
Me: What is called a masterpiece today, I really don’t know whether to cry or laugh. Is it black humor or sadness? I’m overwhelmed...

LV: "This radiant vanilla shines and unfolds the lushest, floral, and subtly leathery notes. To enhance this brilliant power, an almond extract imparts a pampering, powdery softness"
Me: The truth is, this fragrance is exclusively about vanilla and almond. Subtly leathery notes are not detectable to me, probably also because my nose is full of dusty and powdery almond. Almond that comes across as cheap, even unattractive. Little balance, little finesse. Something positive perhaps for those who like or need it: The fragrance has strong potency, meaning it radiates clearly and lingers on the skin easily for 8-9 hours.

LV: "A hint of ginger emphasizes the contrast and gives this virtuosic creation a sparkling freshness."
Me: Exactly, and with a divining rod, I heal cancer...

For me, this display of embarrassment is hard to surpass, yet I know there will be buyer groups.
One thing should be clear, though: You get a trivial vanilla-almond scent that surely exists in many versions at significantly lower prices, probably even in parts much more finely tuned. Fantasmagory is loud, artificial, very powdery, annoying, and could represent a classic "I get a headache" candidate for some.
The supposedly refreshing ginger note is completely drowned out and simply non-existent.

Conclusion:
Simple vanilla-almond combination in an almost toxic, inflated marketing construct without soul.
And for that, 510 euros are being asked, madness...

As long as Vuitton is hyped, people will keep buying the stuff. But I always say: Those who elevate themselves will eventually fall hard. Well, maybe they just mixed in some RUF baking aroma.

That's true. The market just isn't there (yet). Still, I find it a mystery how anyone can really sweet-talk this thing at such an absurd price.

I had to chuckle a bit 😅 Compliments on the great, more than insightful review! I'm testing it right now and unfortunately have to agree with you… the scent is a joke… just like all the others from the brand (we don’t even need to discuss the price).

The comparison with my favorites scares me, so I'll stay away from it. But if you don't like it @DANA17, I guess I don't have to worry about spending €510 on LV.

I hope that sentence is meant to be ironic; otherwise, I personally can't agree with it ;)
