The Best Memories from the Christmas Market
Advent is approaching as I dig out my old "Colani-Joystick" from the back corner of the bathroom cabinet. This is my absolute favorite in winter and at Christmas.
The only Eau de Toilette in 100ml size that I have ever completely emptied and repurchased. Until a few years ago, it was still possible to order it online from the Colani shop in Switzerland.
In the early 90s, the bottle was new and unusual. Colani is an ergonomics enthusiast. Accordingly, the bottle fits very well in the hand. By today's standards, the bottle has aged a bit.
This, of course, does not detract from the fragrance. I bought it in winter 1991, during the Christmas market, because it smelled so good of oranges, spices, and speculoos. Everything fit together so well that I could never separate them.
I see my old school friend, who is buying a silver brooch for his mother at the same perfumery for Christmas, and my youthful self with Colani. Well, the friend has since passed away, and the perfumery has long been gone.
But I still have over half a bottle of Colani and can bring the memories back to life for a few more years.
Soon the Christmas market will start again.
