Authentic Lokum

Lush perfumes have always been quirky. They polarize - even before you test them. Many are already put off by the smell of the store, or at the latest by the packaging, names, or prices.

One thing is clear: Lush knows its customers well and focuses on them without regard for losses. This also means that for every popular product, MORE products are added. Oh, you like this shower gel? Here’s a cream, a bath bomb, a shampoo, and a perfume, both solid and liquid, to go with it. And you know what? There's also a body spray!

~~~Scent~~~
For several years, I have lived at the source: Lokum, "Turkish Delight," or in German "Türkischer Honig," I get directly from the store next door. The overly sweet dessert made from sugar and flavors is simultaneously outrageously simple and genius, as it hits the sweet tooth so directly and painlessly that it’s almost too much of a good thing. Served in pretty tins and colored with juicy hues, it’s also nice to look at.
One of my favorite varieties is rose, which my untrained taste buds initially found strange, but then super enjoyable. In the flower-printed packaging, dark pink cubes are lined up, dusted with fine starch so they don’t stick to each other or to your fingers. These little sugar bombs are chewy yet melt quickly, while the rose flavor makes it feel like you’re indulging in something very fine and fresh, not just pure glucose.
Yes, and this is how Rose Jam smells. Powdery, sweet, and rosy. The name means rose jam, and I can understand that, because after a few hours, at the latest after a day, the cardigan sprayed with Rose Jam surprisingly smells fruity. Especially at the beginning, the lemon is a secret main character that goes unnoticed. It’s the one that connects the rose, the sugar, and the powder.
~~~Longevity~~~
Rose Jam lasts up to 48 hours. On the skin, the body spray can even survive a shower, as long as you don’t wash your wrists. On clothing, bed linens, and in hair, it always lasts at least one night.

~~~Sillage~~~
It’s one of those scents that fills the room without being overpowering. The powderiness carries it to the last corner of the room, but the scent is so approachable and gentle that it doesn’t disturb.
~~~Bottle~~~
Rose Jam is packaged in the body spray variant in a black spray bottle with white lettering and a red spray protection lever. The plastic is recycled. I like the look: so pragmatic that it’s cool again. And definitely travel-friendly! The sprayer releases a generous and widely distributed mist and has never malfunctioned so far.

I am totally smitten with the Rose Jam body spray. The scent is perfect for my taste for sweetness, and it lasts so well. It’s also special enough to be interesting without being overly pleasing. Moreover, at just under 35 euros/200 ml, it’s really fairly priced. Luckily, I have now bought more rose lokum so I can also eat what I’ve been sniffing all this time.
