Carriage Ride Around 1900

As I often find myself lost in thoughts about the past, 1900 fits well into my mental landscape.
Out of nostalgia, I treated myself to the monumental Obelisk - and now 1900 has come into my hands!

While it may not be a "blockbuster" like Obelisk, 1900 is still very expressive.

Although it was created in the 90s, it transports you back to the salon life of the turn of the century.

I can easily imagine the sound of hooves and a swaying carriage, with a lady of society sitting inside, adorned in a corseted dress and a jaunty little hat perched atop her elaborate hairstyle.
On her lap cuddles her Bichon puppy, and she is returning home from a bridge evening on the Elbchaussee - to her villa in the upscale Blankenese.
She gazes at the ships slowly passing by on the Elbe - contemplating when she will host her next soirée.
For this event, her "pearls" still have quite a bit to prepare.
For she wants to keep up with the social circles of the Senator's wife.
In the carriage, her soft fragrance wafts through the air, emphasizing her elegance.
Full plum and exquisite queen of the night reach her lovely nose.
The aroma of the white rose mingles with the noble scent of the carriage wood.
From the warehouse district, the scent of spices wafts in through the carriage window.
The Senator's wife had praised her 1900 - which flattered our lady greatly.

And the fragrance itself has something flattering about it and speaks of stylish nostalgia.

I would gladly have ridden in the carriage - straight into the past.

Great comment. I'm also totally fascinated by the time around 1900 and the 20s/30s. Cheers! :)

Maybe it's called just 1900 because MCM (the manufacturer) means 1900 in Roman numerals... I don't necessarily find this wonderful scent nostalgic myself, but it's still a lovely mood picture in the comment!

Even though the scent is called "1900," I don't find it nostalgic or old-fashioned at all; on the contrary. I think it fits perfectly in today's world. I enjoy wearing it; it's suitable for any occasion. It's a shame that production has stopped, but luckily I have enough stock. :-)
