La vita e un opera
I neither know the opera of the same name nor its content. The enchanting fragrance water, however, I know very well. Rather, it prompts me to share my thoughts on this rather inconspicuous and little-noticed scent today.
I am currently in the process of drastically reducing my collection; anything that isn't worn regularly has to go.
I hadn't worn Tosca in a long time, so I dug it out.
It is a calm and simple bottle in the old version, which I have had for what feels like an eternity.
As is my way of describing scents without dissecting them...
My workday becomes a stage, the curtain rises, I play the lead role,
the lighting is perfect, the dress fits like a glove, make-up and hairstyle
are top-notch, a real blockbuster.
The orchestra begins, a symphony of the finest flowers, aromas, and elegance.
Nothing disturbs, nothing is too much or too little, powder and floral dust, vanilla and violet, a bit of forest, a charming veil. Not loud or intrusive.
I forget that I am wearing work pants and safety shoes, my hair hastily pinned up, and that it is 6 a.m.
Every day with Tosca is an opera of my life.
A dream.

I love Tosca, especially the vintage extrait and EdP. Nothing compares to it. It's so unique and unmistakable. You either love it or you don't. My whole childhood was wrapped in this beautiful scent.

Tosca was my late grandmother's signature scent. I loved her very much. And Tosca too! A perfume made for eternity. You can't give that away!.. ;)

A very beautiful scent profile. I hadn't tested Tosca for years. What a mistake. Two years ago, Tosca moved in after my first test.

A wonderful little piece about one of the truly great women's fragrances! La Fenice in the lower Rossmann shelf!

I think Tosca is wonderful. It turns life into an opera, yet it's not at all a diva scent.

That might be why I often struggle with overly opulent fragrances. I just can't imagine suddenly wearing an evening gown and having a big entrance. I generally prefer things to be simpler, and my scents should match that. But it's great that you can pull it off. I envy you for that.

I think it's so beautiful how you write about "Tosca"! One really has to take a good look at oneself and think about how many prejudices we have in our minds, or rather, in our scent memory. But maybe this will be rediscovered, as today’s mothers and grandmothers are different and don’t want to limit themselves to just one or two fragrances, let alone have to. A chance for Tosca!
