Fresh Lactonic Fruity Floral Over Soft Egyptian Musk
After wearing Amyris Femme a few times, I would swear that what I'm smelling is something more fruity than just lemon blossom, could it be an attempt at an osmanthus note? To my nose there are a ton of milky-apricoty-peachy lactones along with a freesia-like indistinct warm-fresh floral over a blend of at least two persistent musks, one that smells fresh-powdery-clean and one that seems to be the same Egyptian musk base found in the original NR for Her. The milkiness of the lactones is pervasive and creates a haze over the freshness of the rest of the composition. Perfumes that it reminds me a little bit of include both Gucci Rush and NR for Her EDP (pink bottle) though Amyris Femme is softer, more prim and proper and less complex than either for those.
Amyris Femme is a linear composition that I've grown a bit tired of by the time it finally dissipates 7 hours later. Overall it is an inoffensive scent, but not terribly interesting because it lacks development and no discernible structure which makes it smell more like a functional product like a high end hair mask than a perfume.
Paradoxically, I could see this being a huge hit among a certain subset of generally perfume hating people and might even been a good everyday/everywhere signature scent for someone who isn't really into perfumes.
