The Vetiver-Lemonade for Summer! Not really "sensual" but damn good!
Hey, this is the first comment on the fragrance, how nice :)
I was able to test the scent in a sharing, and what can I say? I LOVE vetiver scents anyway, but this one... This is my new go-to summer vetiver!
Anyone reading the fragrance pyramid will already guess that this scent starts off very citrusy. And that's exactly how it is. The lemon is the first thing you smell. A very light orange in the background. But luckily, it's not a "cleaning product lemon," but a freshly cut lemon that is just on its way into the lemonade glass. My better half mentioned a shower gel scent, and I can understand where she's coming from. The top note is just very refreshing and somehow clear... I'm sure you understand what I mean ;)
After about 20/30 minutes, the citrus scent fades further into the background. Mint comes to the forefront, and the vetiver announces itself. However, the mint doesn't stick around for long... after about 20 minutes, only the vetiver remains. However, it's accompanied by a very light orchid note. This note lingers in the background and adds a certain lightness. The vetiver is not earthy or dirty, as you might know it from Encre Noire or similar scents. It's somewhat like in Grey Vetiver or Guerlain's Vetiver, but a bit lighter there.
Once the base notes are reached, not much happens in terms of scent development. But that's a good thing! The drydown is heavenly! As mentioned, perfect for (high) summer, but also very wearable on warm spring or autumn days.
The longevity is a good 7 to 8 hours.
I haven't seen the bottle in person, but it looks great in the pictures. And all Mancera bottles are fantastic.
I also find the price good! The scent is excellent and smells very high quality. I think my decant will be gone quickly, and then I’ll need a full bottle!
Hey @Fresh21!
I personally can hardly perceive anything from it. I don't find it particularly old-school either :)
If you're worried, maybe give it a try :)
I find vetiver scents are usually a bit "classic"... but I don't think this one is old school :)
I'm not familiar with the orage :S
I would say it's like Grey Vetiver. Just a bit more citrusy at the start and a little lighter in the middle :)
