More musk than vanilla

Sprayed at 8am

The opening is a woody musk that I honestly find a little overwhelming. There’s a base of spice and vanilla that isn’t offensive at all, but this strikes me as a distinctly masculine gourmand.

I’ve always just associated Oud with a resinous musk scent—I’m not sure if that is totally accurate, but I feel like this fragrance is definitely oud-dominant. Considering I’m not a big fan of super musky scents, unfortunately this isn’t really resonating with me. The oud is softened with the vanilla, but sadly I’m not picking up on any of the other gourmand notes which is what I was looking forward to. It’s mostly just the oud with some subtle hints of cedarwood and sandalwood.

I can see this being appealing to someone who is looking for a super rich and musky fragrance. But it’s just not for me.
