I am a lover of floral or clean scents. However, I too am now in the mood to try something new as we head into autumn. Some time ago, I decided to approach the topic of vanilla anew. After realizing that vanilla is indeed versatile and doesn’t automatically smell like vanilla impulse deodorant (I also belong to those affected by this trauma), I wanted to search for a cool, neutral vanilla that could also be layered with my floral or fruity treasures. But where to start? To be honest, I wasn’t ready to dig deep into my pockets for a first encounter. That I would spontaneously and unplanned find something at Mango, I did not expect! I was immediately convinced! It started off floral with a brief appearance of bergamot - interesting! - and then the vanilla quickly joined in. Not too sweet, but sweet enough to create that “mhhhh delicious” moment. I also perceive chocolate, but more in a supporting role. The sweetness develops a bit over time, and after a few hours, you only notice vanilla with a hint of chocolate. However, not so intensely that you would quickly tire of it. I applied the fragrance today at 8:30 AM; now it’s almost 3:30 PM and the scent is still clearly detectable on my clothing. I can still smell it on my skin if I get very close. I think that’s an excellent performance for such an inexpensive fragrance! I estimate the sillage to be somewhat weaker, as I generally don’t find the scent intrusive or particularly intense.
I can somewhat understand the comparison to "Goddess (Eau de Parfum) | Burberry," as the vanilla note is quite similar. However, I would classify Linen Vanilla more as “basic.” Goddess is more playful. With Linen Vanilla, I get 3 components, of which a maximum of 2 remain until the end. And in my opinion, that’s enough if it’s well done! Especially if you want to experiment with layering.
You can get an 80ml bottle for under €25… so reapplying doesn’t hurt. I am absolutely convinced. This was truly a great find and worth every cent!
By the way, there are a lot of trauma survivors here 😅
