Honey honey, touch me baby, ah-ha honey, honey...

What times those were when Abba stormed the charts. I was a child, young, naive, and not yet a worrywart. I wanted to be like Agnetha and Anni-Frid when I grew up, to wear such great platform shoes made of white patent leather, and to make wonderful music with my friends.

Honey by Marc Jacobs not only revives my memories of the atmosphere of that time due to its name and the then fashionable color yellow, but the mood conveyed by the fragrance fits perfectly.

It starts with a fresh, light yellow-transparent veil of bergamot and orange blossom, which is immediately underlaid in the top note with an unusual flower that I can't quite place. Honeysuckle is not recognized by my nose here, rather something more robust. If I had to guess, I would lean towards a hint of orange marigold, very typical of the Seventies. Perhaps it is a successful blend of flowers with the mandarin listed in the pyramid - by the way, also orange. The heart note now becomes sweeter. It is a pleasant sweetness, not overly sweet, no rather mild, without being sharp, sticky, or even burnt. The scent remains bright and cheerful, but in the heart note it is no longer as transparent and gains in fullness.

The heart note lasts a good four hours, during which Honey only changes slightly. Depending on my own mood, I now smell more or less honeydew melon and peach against a sugary-bitter marigold background. Today, it’s more honeydew melon than peach.

In the base, the marigolds fade more and more, making the overall impression a bit softer and more endearing. At the same time, however, the scent begins to disappear. In the end, after about 6 hours, a gentle peach remains. I only notice the vanilla because I was looking for it. Then it’s over. Over like the 70s.

I really do have platform shoes in white leather today, although not patent. Real. Vintage. Out of nostalgia. And recently also a bottle of Honey.

"Honey honey, let me feel it
Ah-ha, honey honey
Honey honey, don't conceal it
Ah-ha, honey honey..."

Edit: New! Now also in my nose with an added pear!

I don't know the scent, but I would have loved to go on a time travel. I still have my platform shoes.

You've wonderfully given me an earworm now. I'm having an ABBA day today. That's my happy place, just like your lovely and cheerful comment.

The scent pyramid doesn't convince me. But the bottle is so cheesy that I actually like it again. A nice reminder of Abba; I need to listen to their songs again.
