Clean Cotton Laundry
This scent is a gentle, delicate nothing. Hardly graspable. Like a fresh breeze blowing in through the open window and out the door again. A lovely musk-lily of the valley. Synthetically pleasant. Clean to the max. Laundry associations on autopilot. The entire production process is encapsulated here. Laundry detergent (softly sweet floral scented), dry air, a hint of green meadow, moist ironing steam. And white cotton clothing that absorbs all these smells. A theme fragrance that is incredibly well executed. Just a bit too artificial for me in its ozonic direction. But with an engaging aura. Friendly, uncomplicated, well-groomed. There’s really not much more to say about it. Oh wait: It might be an ideal perfume for people who don’t like perfume. And please read the first and last paragraph of Rutil's review. They are so beautifully and accurately written. And also the other fitting reviews. They are all worth reading.
**Note:**
‘Cotton’ comes from the so-called Splash Collection (due to the 300ml splash bottles - with a screw-on spray mechanism, alongside the 100 ml spray bottles), a themed series that mainly focuses on individual scent notes or specific scent impressions, especially summery-fresh ones. This includes illustrious names like ‘Rain’, ‘Grass’, ‘Pear’, or ‘Cucumber’. Unfortunately, they have been discontinued for years. Although they were originally limited editions, the four most successful ones - including Cotton - were briefly re-released in 2016, I can’t imagine that something like this will happen again or that a similarly interesting series will be created, given the current brand policy of LVMH. Because by now there is no men’s fragrance left in the portfolio, and the women’s collection is exclusively reduced to the ‘Daisy’ and ‘Perfect’ lines.
