Yes, all beginnings are hard. In the case of Marc Jacobs "Rain" and me even twice. First of all, I should say that I am not necessarily a friend of Mr Jacobs' scents, they are always a bit too, yes, difficult for me at the beginning. I don't know exactly how to describe them, but there is always something "light" missing in my nose. So also with "Rain", which I was allowed to test as a specimen when it was reissued. Curious as I am and because I wanted to know how Mr. Jacobs interprets the smell of rain, I put it on. At the beginning it is fresh, but I can't help it, I always have a slight 'mouldy' note in my nose. Even now, when I smell it again, this 'moufflon' note comes through both on my skin and when I smell the bottle.
So I saw my opinion about Jacobs' fragrances confirmed once again, something in the beginning of the fragrances does not please me.
Nevertheless, I bought a bottle of Rain when I saw it as a superduper offer. Now many people are probably asking themselves: why does she buy a perfume she doesn't like? The answer is simple: first of all, I like to act illogically and secondly, "Rain" developed wonderfully during the course of wearing it.
It was warm and I went for a walk with my bitch, I walked across the meadows and suddenly I noticed a fine scent. Hello Mr. Jacobs! What is it? Should we still find each other? Yes, we should. "Rain is developing beautifully on my skin. I smell a fine, fruity freshness on my skin. No more of that "moufflon" smell. This fruity freshness is also preserved, with me it doesn't change any more. I was happy about this turn of events and after coming home I immediately threw myself at my husband and asked him: "Take a whiff of me! More than a "Yes, smells good" I did not get an answer.
Whether it is still perceptible to others at a distance from me, I cannot answer reliably. In any case, on some days I can still perceive it on myself after wearing it for a long time, on some days I can no longer smell it after only two hours and put on more. I think several factors play a role...the skin, the nose, the general shape of the day, etc. All in all, I would estimate its shelf life to be about four to five hours on average. The bottle is handy and simple, I like the blue very much.

Conclusion: After an initial subliminal 'moufflon' note (which probably only I can smell:-D), a wonderful fragrance emerges, which fits well into the warmer seasons. My bottle is still half-full, it's not one of my beloved favourites, but especially now in summer it comes into play from time to time.
