This perfume is complex and very opulent. It is gourmand, but not sweet, sensual but not what you normally call "animalic. "Rouge No. 2" could be meant as an operative term in many ways: the blackcurrant and the tart rouge represent the "red motif" which dominates. To bolster this idea, there is a cleverly constructed accord of jasmine&orchid, a touch of nostalgic violet and a very strong base of amber, vanilla on a fascinating, tenacious, synthetic bed of castoreum. Like the colour red, this is a vibrant, loud fragrance. It smells spectacular. Wear it to any grand event where you want to be noticed. Since it is a very strong fragrance, a little will go a long, long way. The vessel is an added bonus: exquisite (as always with Micallef).
I have it but cannot wear it every day. It is captivating, noticeably fresh and ambery at the same time. A stunning perfume for a gala event. Not cozy - or for snuggles, unless ... you want to experience great drama.
