Today I had the pleasure of testing Rouge No 2 and was very curious about this special little fragrance.
The very first impression was sugary - "Oh no!" I couldn't even finish the thought, then that impression disappeared immediately. At first, it seemed very faint and then came through.
It became vanilla-warm and fruity - and it stayed that way.
It smells creamy and soft for a long time and for me has a hint of sweet pineapple - although I can't really identify it in the fragrance pyramid.
At some point, the scent becomes a bit drier but still warm with a hint of fruity-vanilla sweetness.
In warmth, the fruity aspect comes through stronger for me - meanwhile, a layer of woody warmth has settled underneath. I don't really find it animalistic, but I also don't have a particularly talented perfume nose ;)
The scent is cozy-soft and rounded, all components are perfectly balanced.
In the end, however, it simply doesn't match my taste. Fruity is not necessarily my thing - more apple than pineapple. It doesn't feel as cozy-soft to me as other fragrances nor is it exciting enough to blow me away. I find it pleasant, quite nice, but it just doesn't suit me, and the recurring (not permanent) sweetness bothers me here.
PS: 10% extra because after 5 hours in the base it has really become warm, soft, and very rounded, and the pineapple note has dissipated. However, 5 hours is too long for me.
Strange - You're not the only one who ultimately doesn't want to wear this scent. It's just too exciting for that. Although I don't find anything animalistic in it. At least not in a disturbing way. I have it and wear it sometimes.
