In my childhood, these hot summers were exceptionally rare, where not only did you enjoy hearing that Langnese commercial, but you also wanted to devour copious amounts of ice cream. Summer, indeed!
But today was not summer; it was February. However, it was a special February day. Pure blue sky, radiant sun, and by the afternoon, I could easily do without a coat.
Today was VELOCITY day. Summer, indeed!
Until the evening, I didn't even know that there was such a thing as a summer perfume, a scent that can create summer in winter. Summer fragrances, where you immediately know they are for the young flyers, not for me anymore, there are plenty of those. VELOCITY is different; it makes everyone feel fresh and alive.
But what makes Velocity so special?
First of all, there is this wonderfully warm scent that wafts out of the bottle. I want more immediately. When something smells so delicious, something interesting must follow - I was not disappointed, but certainly very surprised!
Banana blossom is a soft, flattering scent. You can recognize the fruit that will follow, yet it remains floral. It is carried by green. My inner eye sees lush vegetation.
Before I get too warm, a zesty coolness develops. My nose can hardly untangle the aromas, but my skin reacts. Although the heater keeps the February night outside, I feel cool. Like ice in the sunshine! This floral zestiness and freshness persist. I can't get summer out of my head :)
But before anything could start to annoy me, the woody notes calm my reactions. They were there all along, giving Velocity a depth that other summer scents lack.
I am a bit surprised that the sillage is quite close to the body and the longevity is not so pronounced. But when summer really arrives, you like to refresh yourself more often.
