perfect tobacco & leather combo

i adore this fragrance so much. tobacco and leather can be difficult notes to work with, but this is simple, well balanced, and nostalgic. the leather isn't overbearing or synthetic, it's just enough to set off the sweetness of the tobacco without masking it. the cinnamon adds a little brightness in the opening and the dryness of the vetiver helps smooth everything out. in my opinion, Tobak is reminiscent of the embrace of a warm, lived in leather jacket or the cozy armchair in your grandfather's living room.

This opens with a very dry vetiver and a green tobacco leaf that creates an aromatically earthy smokiness. The heart has a darkly smoky leather with animalic musks that pack a warm sweatiness that feels like a loved one’s hands in leather gloves. The dry down has a dry cinnamon bark with a woody smell reminiscent of old furniture covered in year old layers of smoke. The scent isn’t for me but I can see this working for someone else

Polo Reloaded

Maya Njie says this perfume was inspired by her grandfather, and it's not difficult to understand why. Recalls fragrances of the 70s and 80s with its dry spice, vetiver, tobacco and leather while remaining modern in its minimalism, as if Polo were composed today, stripped of its green notes but still evoking a smoker's well-worn sweater, or private members clubs, filled with leather furniture steeped in years of tobacco smoke. A fitting tribute and very wearable, especially in the Autumn.

Rich Tobacco You Can Only Dream Of

This fragrance was made in honor of Maya Njie's grandfather, Martin, and you can smell the love she had for him in the quality and blend of the notes. This is the deepest darkest leathery tobacco fragrance I've tried and I love it. When you watch a movie and the mysterious Ranger is smoking a pipe, this is what he is smoking, this is what he smells like. There is some warmth from the cinnamon and a strong woody dry down. It lasted all day on my skin, about 7 hours and the projection is pretty strong. This is more of a masculine leaning scent but if you like wearing a leather and want to feel powerful, this is a great fragrance to help finish the look. It is $148 for 50ml, which is pretty pricey but this isn't an everyday fragrance so I imagine this bottle would last a really long time if you decided to make the purchase.
