Pagan Mayfair Body Spray

Everyday Opium
I am not sure I understand this fragrance, as it deserves to be understood. That is the case with some fragrances and me. It does not mean that it smells bad or is not worth trying. But I have issues with the beginning of Pagan.
At first, I get too much of everything, and the only thing I keep thinking of is, that it smells like a cake I really do not want to eat; like a light bulb slowly melting the lamp shade; like a solvent I used when I, as a teenager, painted on china.
Then after half an hour it turns into a nice, warm distant cousin to Opium. The one you would prefer to sit next too at a party, since she is not as extreme and diva-like as Opium. Smooth, warm and sweet. And spicy - lovely spices evaporating from the deep. Finally she turns into a nice patchouli.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Pagan. I just have to choose between a lot of fragrances that will either stay or leave my forever collection. Pagan has a weird beginning and therefore has to leave my collection. I still have Opium that I can sit next to.
