Push it to the Mexx!

"Mexx Black for Men" reminds me of a mix between "Boss Bottled" and "Ultraviolet Men". A drugstore scent that doesn’t need to be torn apart or should be. It is certainly not a revelation, and as an advanced perfumista, you wouldn’t bat an eye at it, but to dislike or even hate it is quite impossible, as it is far too... neat, pleasant, and attractive.

I could have used exactly such a fragrance for school grades 5 to 10. So if there’s still a mother or aunt looking for a nice scent for their "little one" that smells good and never stands out negatively, then this all-rounder is not a bad choice at all. Not at all. Of course, if you compare it to a Frederic Malle, it comes off as a characterless piece of junk. However, keeping in mind the price and areas of use, and perhaps the other offerings from the brand, "Mexx Black" is more than okay. And for a start, that’s enough. Sporty, youthful, office-appropriate. A peppery-creamy mandarin-amber head nodder. The intern scent. But it doesn’t block any chances for advancement. And the (younger) girls usually like it too. Practical package. With low expectations and realistic assessments.

Bottle: not super high quality, but valuable and stylish enough for the price range and brand and its areas of use. Just like the scent itself. Unremarkable but acceptable.
Sillage & Longevity: mediocre to poor (3-4 hours) - but reapplying costs (almost) nothing!

Conclusion: you probably won’t find a better Mexx (for men) - absolutely usable, often wearable, and as a gateway drug into the world of fragrances, a solid choice. Especially for students and young adults who don’t need anything particularly fancy or expensive. Good!
