as a former swimmer, la piscine has been at the very top of my watchlist for as long as i can remember. my white whale perfume is one that smells like your skin when you lick it immediately getting out of a pool (weird i know, but i feel like every swimmer has done this lol). i was really enticed by the chlorine top note, but the tuberose/jasmine/coconut made me the slightest bit wary, especially as someone who doesn't love a sunscreen scent.
i finally got to try it while i was in barcelona, and while i wouldn’t say he nailed the photorealistic pool vibe, it’s about as close as i’ve found to a true pool scent and evokes a very specific image of a pool. it doesn’t necessarily smell solely like chlorine, but it’s humid and chemically like walking into a poorly ventilated natatorium. a grayish greenness takes over quite a bit as it dries (the moss is especially present), giving it an eerie otherworldliness that i really liked. appreciated how long lasting it is too. the hunt continues but this def lived up to my expectations :D
