Dirty, old civet - with minimal violet/leather undertone. Spoiled or not?
Uff .. yes .. well ..
I am actually a bit perplexed.
As someone with little money, for whom fragrances mean the world, I constantly search for samples and minis.
I always check here beforehand to see if the scent notes suit me.
When I saw the Mila Schön - Haute Couture Vintage mini 8ml for not even 10€, and then these scent notes - violet, leather, patchouli - I knew I had to have it.
Styrax and civet are also included -
and I was totally interested in how these scent notes from the past smell.
Cats smell wonderful, and thankfully civets are no longer misused for cosmetics today - but I still wanted to know how it smelled back then..
I also ordered other minis with civet that otherwise have nothing to do with Haute Couture.
When the minis arrived, I was full of anticipation and excitement.
I dripped Mila Schön first.
Wait a few seconds.

What. Is. that ..
At first, I thought this was the most disgusting thing I had ever smelled.
So penetratingly animalistic, hardly describable, a mix of a homeless person, old urine puddle, and something uncomfortably warm and stuffy.
I was horrified.
Of course, I immediately wondered if it could be spoiled.
Even though it was lightproof, originally packaged, and "new" ..
I know that cats smell good. On their little heads. Like baby.
But I fear that civet smells completely different.
(Maybe someone who has cats and knows how civet smells can confirm this for me?)
An hour later, this disgusting top note (which smelled more like a base due to the "warmth") became a bit weaker, and far "back" on the horizon, something pleasant could still be smelled.
It reminded me slightly of Simply Eau de Parfum
Leather, violet, citrus, and maybe musk??
But unfortunately, the unpleasant touch remained, making it unbearable for me ..
I smelled it the next day.
But perfumes that stink to you are unfortunately always perceived for longer, right?
I tried it on 2 other days, sometimes it was better, sometimes worse, but every time that unwashed homeless person and urine puddle smell was present
The notes looked so promising..
By the way, the other minis with civet had the same unpleasant touch, just not as extreme.
Now I wonder, does civet simply smell that disgusting, or are all these civets spoiled??
