"A Whiff of Nothing"
A Whiff of Nothing
My hand on your pillow, gently smoothing the blanket.
Feet, quietly gliding over polished parquet.
Still smelling your hair, feeling your skin.
Dreamless my sleep, thoughts so loud.
Longing my search, authenticity.
I want to come back here, always there.
Down, quickly, hurried, down and out.
Down the stairs through the old house,
I fly more than I run and in my heart it beats loudly.
Your voice within me, feeling the memory...
You smoke a pipe, there by the fireplace.
I would love to, can't find my way back...
Thought, tell me, how should I organize you.
Memory stays, where is your morning.
Life goes on, eyes looking ahead.
L'Air de Rien, a scent that I love to wear, that much in advance.
It simply reminds me, and also of me. When I look at the concept, the background,
I find it all the more beautiful to explore here. A scent application that I smell very fulfilled.
Jane Birkin, as a scent refuser, knew exactly where she wanted to go...
I find L'Air de Rien fulfills exactly this claim!
A walk in late summer, on a gravel road.
Sun-heated gravel, it dusts under my feet. I walk along
the small paths at the edge of the forest, peering into
cool darkness, seeing moss on the trees soft and gentle.
That's how L'Air de Rien feels. A mix of dry and moist,
light and dark, erotic & dirty, also slightly morbid.
A bit of neroli comes with white musk, I reach for grapefruit.
Very distinctive, the vanilla with amber. A great, almost scratchy blend, which
becomes softer & softer... finely sweet. The ash, glowing spruce shavings rise to my nose.
The scent is, despite its few ingredients (well, I don't believe what’s up there anyway), not linear. Simple in the heart note, very refined in the base. I smell patchouli, a lot of it.
Dominant, scent-defining from the start. I perceive something rough, dusty.
Sillage not to be feared, longevity unique!!
Very erotic, definitely unisex, surely wearable all year round.
Distantly, L'Air de Rien reminds me of Versilia Vintage - Ambra Mediterranea
@Dear Medusa00, perhaps the undead have been redeemed :)

I completely agree with the statement about its suitability for men! Nicely described by you.

It reminds me of Eau du Contadour by L'Occitane, so it's going on my wish list.

Thank you so much for the sample... the listed notes don't seem quite right to me either, especially in the first two hours I only smell ambergris, which is very animalic and salty, and only then does tobacco and vanilla come in.

You can even turn a zombie into an angel with a halo :-) I definitely need to give that one a sniff. Adding it to my wishlist!
