....everything somehow different
I always wanted to test the scent, and only now in February did it happen - outside there was sleet and in my mind the escape to the nearest perfumery with a longing for
fragrant good mood.
So there it was..... lavish sprays landed on my skin. Later in the subway came the realization: That was probably a bit much. No matter, I immediately indulged in my newest hobby: sniffing and simultaneously trying to find my scent experience in the comments on Parfumo. But I found nothing, nothing that even remotely matched. There was no doubt: While the perfume was described as Miu Miu, it was not the scent on my skin.
I perceived it entirely differently: The woodiness is immediately present, strong, but not unpleasant, I smell a hint of herbal incense and a slight sting of cinnamon. Nothing festive, but the sheer opposite of a summery fresh green. It must be Akigalawood (a fragrance compound derived from patchouli oil...aha) ...or the season ....or the sleet. Confusions within my nose. It goes on ....with a jolt I feel transported back decades. I catch a whiff of Giorgio Beverly Hills or is it Scherrer II? Doesn't matter, suddenly I'm sweet 17 again... nice - also good. While I sit in the rattling train and ponder, a breath of fruity freshness blows into my nose. Okay, there’s something... now and then. But generally, I don’t perceive anything of what most of my predecessors have beautifully described (pondering.....).
A day later: The weather is still wintry, and I’m still confused. Once again into the perfumery, Miu Miu on my arm, into the subway. New day - new attempt. Everything as before, although admittedly with a slightly more soapy freshness (maybe I’m just convincing myself... so many noses can’t be wrong after all)
The most astonishing thing about this "experiment" is: Miu Miu does NOT fit my current taste at all. Maybe it would have suited me 15 years ago. BUT: I think the scent is great! I even ordered it right away while still on the subway and I'm already excited about it!
I somehow smell special with it, it won’t be an "everyday" perfume and is more for the current season, will I ever wear it in summer? I doubt it, but who knows what surprises my nose has in store by then.
Oh, and the lovely longevity. Even here: everything different. It feels like an eternity, easily 6-8 hours. The sample on my hand was still well noticeable even after washing my hands twice.

Ach, wie schön du ihn beschrieben hast. Er steht schon länger auf meiner Wunschliste, denn ich finde ihn auch sehr besonders.
